PAW Patrol Pups Rescue Kids' Bath Time! The Latest in Bath Decor & Essentials are Now Available!

American children are going to be ecstatic once they discover that PAW Patrol bath items have arrived in store at Walmart and online at Walmart.com! So far there is no release date for when these items may start appearing on Canadian shelves. But for the moment, these rescue pups' paws will be upholding the law in America when it comes to cute and functional bath decor and & essentials like wash cloths and towels!

We recently got a number of these bath items for review. We were about to put them to use, when we decided to give the bathroom a fresh coat of paint first, and give these items a proper inauguration. We purposely chose a paint colour that would tie in the existing fixtures with the PAW Patrol decor, and it looks great! The kids are thrilled, and have also been more motivated to keep their bathroom clean and organized.

When it comes to PAW Patrol bath decor and bath linens, Walmart pretty much has everything covered. Whether you prefer basics like the PAW Patrol Fabric Shower Curtain and various towels, or functional decor like the PAW Patrol Toothbrush Holder, they've got all sorts of stuff in between. You'll find PAW Patrol Hooded Towel Wraps, a Foam Bath Rug, a Waste Basket, Shower Curtain Hooks, Wash Cloths, Hand Towels, and a Tub Mat. You'll also find other items such as the 2-Piece Towel Set, as well as, seasonal items like regular Beach Towels & Hooded Beach Towels. There are even more items available at Walmart.com

All in all, I found these bright and colourful items to be great quality for the price. The towels and wash cloths are soft and pretty thick. I would venture a guess that they'd easily last a few years with proper laundering. The Shower Curtain & Hooks are not only adorable but functional. The Toothbrush Holder has 3 wide slots in it, making it suitable for most toothbrush sizes. The Liquid Soap Dispenser is a great addition to not only decor, but in encouraging hand washing amongst little ones in particular. The floor mat is well padded, and the tub mat is narrower and longer than most tub mats, perfect for when you're bathing 2 kids at once. No more butt cheeks slip sliding around!

If you are on a budget and are interested in only a couple of items instead of the whole line, I would suggest the 2-Piece Towel Set, which includes both a decent sized bath towel, as well as, a Chase wash cloth. Those sets retail for approximately $9.88USD. In my opinion, the Hooded Towel Wraps, retailing for about $12.88, are adorable, but are best suited for kids 3yrs and under. They could be too short if you've got a taller kid aged 3 or above. The full sized towel included in the 2-Piece Towel Set would be a better bargain, getting more use out of it long term.

Other pricing is as follows, and may vary from location to location:

Bath Towel $8.88USD
Hand Towel $7.88USD
Bath Rug $14.88USD
Tub Mat $9.88USD
Waste Basket $9.99USD
Soap/Lotion Pump $9.99USD

Initially, you may find a limited supply of these items at your local Walmart, as they are just starting to roll out into certain locations. The entire line is available now though, at Walmart.com.

If your kids were hoping for PAW Patrol bath items, but you live in Canada, you could consider getting them PAW Patrol bedding instead. Both Boys' & Girls' PAW Patrol bedding is available in Canada, as well as, the U.S., and should satisfy their desires until the bath items are released in Canada. I'm just hoping that they will eventually release a more feminine version of these bath products down the road, like they did by adding traditional Girls' bedding. After all, Skye & Everest need a bath too! :)

This should go without saying, but never, ever, leave children unattended in or near water. These products are not toys, and are for use under the supervision of a responsible adult only.

Race To The Rescue With the Paw Patroller!

My kids love Paw Patrol, and like many, love to re-enact Paw Patrol rescue missions.  We previously received the Lookout Playset as well as Chase's Cruiser, Marshall's Firefightin' Truck and Rubble's Digg'n Bulldozer. They still enjoy playing with those items, but were particularly excited to get the new Paw Patrol Paw Patroller so that they can transport the pups and their vehicles to the next assignment!

The Paw Patrol Paw Patroller is geared for children 3yrs and up. It does require 3 LR44 watch batteries, which thankfully are included. The only assembly required was to place the 2 front seats into the cab of the truck, and affix the stickers.

The Paw Patrol Paw Patroller allows for up to 6 vehicles and pups to be displayed when the patroller is fully opened into a command centre. When closed and in transport mode the patroller can hold up to 3 vehicles and their pups. It comes with a sticker sheet to embellish the Patroller, as well as Ryder and his ATV. The Paw Patrol Paw Patroller features 5 sounds from the show that change each time the button is depressed. It has the sound of a vehicle backing up and running as well as honking, and also the tone Ryder sends to the pups' collars to mobilize them. It also has the sound of a hoist being elevated, which can go alongside the Paw Patroller's real working elevator used to lift the pups to the upper level of the Patroller. On its upper level, you will find a landing pad for Skye's helicopter, as well as a holder for Zuma's hovercraft propeller fans. The cab of the truck has 2 front seats allowing for Ryder to drive, and for some of the other pups to ride up front with him.  The elevator could be a bit difficult to latch on the upper level for the younger ones, but I'm sure they would get the hang of it quickly. Overall, it seems well constructed and fairly sturdy, particularly when it's in transport mode. The only thing I would add to the Paw Patroller vehicle itself is volume control, so that you can adjust how loud or how quiet the sounds are.

The Paw Patrol Paw Patroller retails in Canada for approximately $79.99, and in the U.S. for about $59.99. It is available at various retailers such as Toys R Us, Walmart and Amazon. At this price point, particularly with regards the Canadian MSRP, it would have been nice to have all of the characters and their vehicles, or at least RoboDog, included as a complete set.  Though it does specify on the box that it includes Ryder and his ATV, the packaging could be a little bit misleading, as the images on the box show all of the characters and their vehicles inside the Paw Patroller. This could easily lend to someone assuming they were all included if they weren't carefully looking at the box and its contents. I suspect that the toy company likely didn't include all of them because the individual vehicles have been on the market for quite a while now and likely wouldn't be needed for most consumers. With that being said, the Paw Patrol Paw Patroller is an interchangeable toy and can also be used with just about any smaller sized vehicles such as dinky cars, which can further expand your child's creativity. And they will love it! In my mind, this is like Barbie & her camper. They go hand in hand and belong together. I suspect that it will be on many a child's Christmas list this year!

For those in the U.S., the Paw Patrol Tour might be coming to a city near you this summer! The Paw Patrol Tour will be visiting state and county fairs from California, to Wisconsin, to Texas and many other stops in between from July 25th to October 4th, 2015. The tour will feature the Paw Patroller truck and trailer along with visits from Chase & Marshall. There will be giveaways, activities for the munchkins, as well as visits from popular Spin Master and Nickelodeon characters like Sick Bricks, Little Charmers, and Chubby Puppies!  Unfortunately this tour is not yet available in Canada, but I can promise you that if it does, I'll spread the word! My kids would be over the moon for it!

Paw Patrollin' Good Time with the Lookout Playset & Basic Vehicle & Pup Combos!

Enter to win InfoMommy's Paw Patrol Toy Giveaway! Giveaway ends October 31st, 2014.

Paw Patrol is a huge hit in our home! If you haven't already guessed by my Paw Patrol Badge Cookies or my Paw Patrol Cupcakes, then you'll be happy to hear about this:

Paw Patrol toys have finally arrived in Canadian stores, thanks to Spin Master Ltd! It feels like it's been a long time coming, so you can imagine my sons were very excited when these items arrived for testing! They were eager to set up the Lookout Playset and save Adventure Bay!

Chase's Cruiser has 2 detachable pylons to help him perform his police pup duties. When not in use, or when Chase is responding to an emergency, they can be stored on the back of his police car. Marshall's Firefightin' Truck features his tool of the trade - a moveable ladder to help him come to the ruff ruff rescue! Rubble's Digg'n Bulldozer has a moveable drill & scoop which help him blast through whatever is in the way. Also in the series is Skye's High Flyin' Copter, Zuma's HovercraftRocky's Recycling Truck, and last but not least, Ryder's Rescue ATV. All come with real working wheels and the pups come with moving limbs so that you can have them lie down or stand to accommodate whatever rescue mission is at hand. These are a hit with my kids! Each of these vehicle and pup combos retail for approximately $15.99CAN and are recommended for children 3yrs and up. A great buy!

The Paw Patrol Lookout Playset consists of the tower lookout, along with an elevator to get to the 2nd level and a slide/chute for the pups to fly down and leads directly to their awaiting vehicle. There is also a fire type pole for Ryder to quickly get to the ground level, and a real working periscope on the upper level that can rotate 360 degrees to aid in keeping a lookout over Adventure Bay. The large Paw Patrol badge activates real sound effects from the actual TV show and lights up. To see the commercial for how it works, click here and scroll down until you see the posted video.

The Lookout Playset is a great concept for a toy, and a great way to bring Paw Patrol to life! It is easy to assemble and actually comes with batteries. Included with the Lookout Playset, is Chase and his vehicle, and 2 pylons. My kids love this particular toy too, however get frustrated, as do I, when the slide often becomes unattached. I feel that the
slide should really have 2 more brackets on it close to the middle of the slide to keep it fastened properly. With that being said, it's nothing that super glue can't fix, but at the price point of $46.99CAN, I would expect that to be permanently attached without having to do any extra work. With that price range, I would also think it would be better to include a few extra characters, or at least Ryder who is integral to the group. The tower lookout is quite stable, although a rounded base might make it more anchorable. Perhaps these are 3 things that can be looked at for a second edition of this toy.

Despite some minor technical issues, it is a great toy for kids that promotes teamwork and creativity when playing by themselves or with a sibling or friend. Like the basic vehicle & pup combos, this playset is geared for kids ages 3+. It would be a definite hit with kids and would be an even bigger hit with parents if it could be purchased when it's on sale!

Happy Patrollin'!

Paw Patrol Is On A Roll With Their New Sticker Storybook, Paint Book and Colouring Book!

Paw Patrol is on a roll with their brand new colouring book, sticker storybook and paint book that comes out Tuesday!

Each book has something great to offer, besides just simply being awesome for being Paw Patrol! (Or so my son says! LOL)

Paw Patrol: Pups to The Rescue Sticker/Storybook is a 16-page storybook that also contains more than 30 stickers. It is a good book if your kids (or you!) are not familiar with all the characters, and even if you love them all! It explains each character and what each's special skills, interests and abilities are. This particular book is geared for kids ages 4yrs - 8yrs, but your younger ones would love the book not only for its content, but for its colourful pictures throughout the book! My son has been asking for this book to be his nightly bedtime read almost every night since we got it to review. This title retails for approximately $4.99CAN.

Paw Patrol: All Paws on Deck Paint Book features 64 pictures to paint. It comes with its own paintbrush, and a 16 watercolour paint palette! Now, I must also share that this paint is washable, which is a huge plus! I found this out the easy way when my son used the paint to paint a paper towel roll... When doing so, he accidentally sprayed some paint droplets onto our wall! I didn't notice this until the paint had dried and when I went to scrub it off with a wet cloth, it came right off simply by wiping it. Now I know I sound like an infomercial right now, but it's the God's honest truth! I thought I was going to have to bust out the Mr Clean Magic Eraser and risk stripping off some of our paint off the walls, but it was a total cinch. The book also says it's washable from clothing as well, but I never went to the trouble of trying that out! LOL But after the wall predicament, I believe the claim. It is geared for kids ages 3yrs - 7yrs, but I even loved to paint a picture or two myself! (Yes, I painted some and I'm proud of it! LOL) So the age group might be better adjusted to 3yrs and up... No since excluding us older folks from all the fun! LOL This title retails for approximately $8.99CAN.

Paw Patrol: Puppy Power Colouring Book is filled with 48 colouring pages! Not only that, but it comes with 4 chunky primary colour crayons, which can be used to layer and create all sorts of colours. I love this particular book not only in general, but also more specifically as something to bring or give to someone going on a road trip. It would provide hours of constructive activity both in the car, and at your destination for both you and your kids! (And yes, I am guilty of colouring a couple of these pages too, so feel free to find your inner child and colour along as well!) This title retails for approximately $4.99CAN.

Infomommy & Random House Canada are giving away a total of 5 Paw Patrol Prize Packs via Facebook & Twitter! The giveaway ends July 31st at 11:59EST.

While Chase is usually the one on the case, and it's the pups that are usually on a roll, I'm the one on the case and on a roll.... right into my bed. LOL Good night!

Show Me Your Paw Patrol Cookie Badge!‏

Sometimes, you just need to be rescued..... Sometimes it's for something serious, and sometimes it's to make your child's birthday dreams come true. The Paw Patrol gang are usually the ones that do the rescuing, but this time, it was CheapCookieCutters.com!

This show, which is on TVO here in Canada, and Nick Jr in the U.S., is loved by my son with a capital L! Being that it's a brand new program, it is very difficult to find anything that is legitimately Paw Patrol, except for craft sites like Etsy. Add to that a child's birthday party theme request and we have a celebratory dilemma.

I went online searching for badge cookie cutters as I wanted to fabricate a Paw Patrol logo for his cake or make decorative cookies as part of the loot bags. I found only 2 websites offering a badge. One was out of stock, and the other was CheapCookieCutters.com!

I contacted them, and got a very prompt response. I had it shipped to me and voila - Paw Patrol themed cookies by InfoMommy were born -  thanks to the creativity of those at CheapCookieCutters.com! (And to the inventor of edible icing! Without that, my son's beloved Chase the dog picture would never have been featured on the cookie! LOL)

CheapCookieCutters.com has over 2,000 cookie cutters available and if you are searching for something that they don't actually have, you can customer order! How paw-riffic is that? They guarantee to ship within 2 business days and are made in the U.S., giving you great quality. Almost all of their cookie cutters are made of steel plated tin and are sturdy and a pleasure to use.

If you are looking for something unique, or for your run of the mill cookie cutter design, consider CheapCookieCutters.com. If you are searching for all things Paw Patrol for a party, check out the Nick Jr website. They have all sorts of printables that you can use to plan and decorate. While your child might think that these adorable puppy characters are heroic, he or she will think you are the real hero!

You can use this great recipe from Company's Coming to make your next Sugar Cookie creation!

Ingredients
    3/4 cup Butter, softened
    3/4 cup Granulated sugar
    1 Large egg
    1 tsp Vanilla
2 cups All-purpose flour (I use whole wheat flour)
    1 tsp Baking soda
    1tsp Cream of tartar
    1/4 tsp Salt
    1/4 tsp Ground cardamom (optional)
Directions
Cream margarine and sugar in large bowl. Add egg. Beat well. Add vanilla. Beat until smooth.

Combine remaining 5 ingredients in small bowl. Add to margarine mixture in 2 additions, mixing well after each addition until no dry flour remains. Divide dough into 2 equal portions. Shape each portion into flattened disc. Wrap each with waxed paper. Chill for at least 6 hours or overnight.
Discard waxed paper from 1 disc. Roll out dough on lightly floured surface to 1/8 inch (3 mm) thickness. Cut out circles with lightly floured 2 inch (5 cm) cookie cutter. Roll out scraps to cut more circles. Arrange about 2 inches (5 cm) apart on greased cookie sheets.
Bake in 350°F (175°C) oven for about 10 minutes until edges are just golden. Let stand on cookie sheets for 5 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool. Cool cookie sheets between batches. Repeat with remaining disc. Yield: Approximately 7 dozen cookies.
***This sample product was provided free of charge.
